Wacky Wombats

In Fantasy Football, you need an even amount of teams. At work we had an odd number, so I had to create a team. I named this team the "Wacky Wombats". Its comprised of average players that no one wanted after week 2 and is supposed to be an easy win for everyone. For fun, I wanted to create an avatar for the team and WHAT HAPPENS this week?? A Crrrraazy Fluke in which they beat the top team in our league. Projected to have only 66 points, they came out furious and got 138 points! Ah, Fantasy Football. Gotta love it. SO unpredictable!!

Fueled By Boba!!

I've been in a Fantasy Football league with my brothers, cousins and a couple of their girlfriends for a couple years now. Its been a whole lot of fun! What's cool is that you don't need to know football that much to have fun. By the end though, if you get into it week to week, you'll start knowing your football players.

I wanted to bring that same camaraderie and trash talk fun to work so I created a league. I didn't want to reuse my team name so I came up with FUELED BY BOBA. Basically, I like Boba (pearl) Milk drinks. I thought it would be fun to do my team avatar of Boba Fett with a Boba drink. A Twofer!

Night Owl

This came from a simple sketch I did Friday after work. The last hour or so of that day I was asked to do some Owl designs for a product. When I got home, I ended up sketching this whimsical owl that I ended up sort of liking.

Portrait Study

A portrait study I did to see how close I can get to making a digital painting look real. Lets just say I need more practice with Corel Painter.

Ariel

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine showed me a drawing her nephew had drawn. I thought it was a pretty cool drawing.  The next thing that came to my mind was these painting some artists did of children's drawings. Those artists would paint them in a realistic way making sure to stay  true to the drawing. I always wanted to try it but never had a drawing I could use. Over the weekend I decided to give it a try. I added some extra details here and there, but stayed within the shapes drawn. Such a fun exercise to do!

Emmy

My Boss commissioned me to do a drawing for her as a gift to give to her sister tonight. The drawing is of her sister's dog, who passed away.  In the beginning of the week, I gave her a sketch with a bunch of background options. We went with the one above as it had a special meaning.

Once I got the green light to start rendering, I kept my boss in the dark as I worked on it every now and then.  As a joke, this morning I told her how great I thought it turned out and gave her the drawing below. I tried my best to be serious and act as if that's all I had.

After a whole day of terrible acting on my part, I finally gave her the actual painting which is below. I had a lot of fun working on these drawings, especially the "joke" one. I think I laughed almost the whole time putting it together haha.
